Clothing Giveaway - 2018
GOD’S WORK — OUR HANDS
It was a lot of work and there was a lot of clothing! But the people who came and “shopped” were so very appreciative that it was all worth it. Nothing went by the wayside. Not only did we help those in the community, but once it was all boxed up, the remaining items went to 5 different organizations to help others. Shoes, purses and knick-knacks went to Goodwill; children’s clothing and shoes went to Wilmington’s clothing bank; sheets/blankets/towels went to the animal shelter; and men’s clothing went to the Seamen’s Foundation. The Foundation is at the Port of Wilmington. Ship workers can come into the port but due to security they cannot leave. They still need need clothing, jackets, etc.
Thank you to Sylvia Schill for heading up this project and for EVERYONE who donated, helped to sort, fold, set up, worked the give-away, helped clean up, and just made this project such a huge success.
